This learning module covered the essentials for an update on following proper sanitary guidelines at a hospital. It was meant to be a shorter learning module that would allow a staff member at the hospital to update themselves on the new protocols for sanitation, emphasizing the use of PPE. Backward design was used along and cognitive load was managed appropriately for the target audience.
Fully Remote Vital Signs Learning Module

This eLearning module was designed in my capstone course during my instructional design program. The purpose of this module was to give aspiring medical professionals the ability to learn how to accurately take vital signs. Major decisions and preventative measures can be taken after assessing patient vital signs, many that can later save a patients life.
The images below come from lesson 5, oxygen saturation, in the module.
The overview was designed to give the learner an idea of what to expect throughout the lesson.
The objectives were written in a clear manner that would allow the learner to assess what they should be able to do by the end of the lesson.
As the learner makes progress in lesson 5, they get to a reading that incorporates multiple, credible sources and a discussion post related to the reading.
The discussion post allows the learner to engage directly with their peers.
They can then view the tutorial on taking oxygen saturation and the infographic that outlines key points for taking accurate measurements.
The Flip assignment gives them the chance to model what they learned on how to measure oxygen saturation with 100% accuracy and get feedback from their peers
The assessment at the end is aligned with the learning objectives.
The lesson ends with an interactive checklist (Google Form) that gives the learner the chance to assess whether they completed everything that they needed to do prior to moving on to the next lesson.
